Harnett County is the proud home of the northern section of Fort Bragg from just north of Spring Lake to Linden Oaks. Located midway between Raleigh-Durham and Fort Bragg, the county is home to thousands of active and retired military personnel and their families in any of the numerous housing options available. The World-renowned Research Triangle Park (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill) is 30-45 minutes north and will be more readily accessible once the Sanford Loop is completed in November 2012. Jobs with the State of North Carolina are abundant in the nearby state capital of Raleigh and within higher education.
In addition, many local folks commute to jobs at world-class corporations such as SAS, IBM, GlaxoSmithKline and more.

Great Healthcare. Complementing the nearby V.A. Medical Center and services at Ft. Bragg, our local hospitals are authorized TriCare providers. The newest hospital located in Lillington, Harnett Health System Central Campus will open in December 2012. This partnership between Betsy Johnson Hospital located in Dunn and Wake Med enhances the medical care options for the county and region. Other major healthcare systems include the medical research hospitals of Duke in Durham, N.C., and UNC-Chapel Hill.
|Excellent Education. You and your family will find top-notch public K-12 schools as well as private schools. (Search Private School Review using a 25 mile radius of ZIP code 27546, which is in the middle of Harnett County). For education, re-education or re-training, 13 colleges and universities are within an hour’s drive. We’re also home to two campuses of Central Carolina Community College, and Campbell University, the second largest private university in N.C. Campbell’s School of Pharmacy is well known. In the Fall of 2011 the first class began studies in the Physician’s Assistants curriculum and the recently announced Osteopathic Medical School will accept its first class in the Fall of 2013. Just up the street are other world-class universities:
