FORT BRAGG, NC (Mar. 17, 2009) - The BRAC Regional Task Force today announced that several construction-related openings with job descriptions are posted on www.buildbragg.com.
The job openings have been posted by Hensel Phelps, the prime contractor for the combined headquarters complex for the U.S. Army Forces Command and U.S. Army Reserve Command on Fort Bragg.
The company seeks to hire concrete carpenters, general construction and concrete laborers, a commercial concrete carpenter foreman, and equipment operators.
Hensel Phelps will be accepting applications for these positions this week. Qualified applicants should apply in person with a resume on Thursday, March 19, from 8 until 11 a.m., at Building 8-2422 Scott Street, Fort Bragg (vicinity of the former Main Post Bowling Lanes). Applicants must present valid state or government identification and vehicle registration at the following installation check points: Randolph Street, All American Expressway, or Knox Street. Job descriptions are posted at www.buildbragg.com.
Over 200 job seekers applied for similar positions with Hensel Phelps last week. The company accepted applications for skilled and unskilled construction positions. Hensel Phelps is seeking to fill 25 to 30 positions at this time.
"Over the next three years nearly 2,000 construction workers will be needed to build the more than 700,000 square-foot combined headquarters building," said Paul Dordal, executive director of the BRAC Regional Task Force.
The Fort Bragg/Pope AFB BRAC Regional Task Force partnered with Hensel Phelps, Inc., and the N.C. Department of Commerce Division of Workforce Development and contracted with Futures, Inc. to provide the Fort Bragg region with a Web portal, www.buildbragg.com, for construction employment and subcontracting information related to the combined headquarters building project for U.S. Forces Command and the U.S. Army Reserve Command.
Hensel Phelps, Inc. was selected as the prime contractor by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers last September to build the combined headquarters building for U.S. Army Forces Command and the U. S. Army Reserve Command. These commands will relocate to Fort Bragg from Fort McPherson, Ga. in early summer 2011.
